The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 90,000-acre (360 km2) wildlife conservancy in Central Kenya’s Laikipia – equator west of Nanyuki, between the foothills of the Aberdares and Mount Kenya. Africa’s most iconic species hunt, graze, breed and fight for survival on the plains of Ol Pejeta every day, in an ecosystem that has one of the highest densities of wildlife in Kenya. It’s popular for hosting the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Ol Pejeta is home to three of the world’s last remaining three northern white rhinos, and a sanctuary for 113 critically endangered black rhinos. All members of the “Big five game” (lion, Cape buffalo, African elephant, leopard and rhinoceros) can be found here.
